Entry Level Production Assistant in our North Side studio
We are looking for a great person to train and assist with canvas bag production. If you love to spend your days making things, have a strong attention to detail, are good at following instructions and can do repetitive labor for hours on end, you will do well in this position. We have a very small and close knit workplace so it is imperative you are comfortable in a small working environment.
Requirements:
experience making things
attention to detail
precise with measurements
ability to follow instructions
physical ability to operate a sewing machine for extended hours
self motivated independent worker
strong work ethic
interest in small manufacturing
must have some experience with fabric (sewing, cutting, pressing, measuring) (you do not necessarily need direct stitching experience, we will train the right person)
comfortable using cutting tools and industrial equipment
comfortable working in a small environment (2-4 co-workers)
Not required but, would be lovely if you had the following:
experience with industrial sewing machines
direct experience in production and manufacturing
background in art and/or design
interest in handmade community and/or small independent business
Part time (15-20 hours a week).
This is an entry-level position.
