HELLO!! I wrote a very long story about this past March when I went to Detroit, being in your 40’s calling your 80 year old father for advice, hearing him say, in full support, “just do it” - making huge decisions, rebuilding one business while simultaneously building a second one, 13th birthdays, 14th birthdays, upcoming super big deal 15th birthdays, new bags, small business love, being the model and the photographer and the designer and the producer, working with friends, designing new bags, reaching point break, changing everything, finding happiness and thus finding a pathway to the achievement you’ve been aiming for, to holiday weekends and what it truly means to be a small business in pandemic times that have gone on far too long and wtf another new variant, to the people who have shown up to support and cheerlead and just overall give the encouragement to get through the toughest of times all resulting in a magic land of harbor seals and beluga whales (are they actually spies?) and sunset bike rides and the most fantastic skies and patio parties and alpine blueberries and weekend getaways to snowy mountains and sunny beaches and all the bags best suited for each.
And then I deleted it all.
It’s Cyber Monday and I’ve shared many stories and written many clever blurbs about skin care and pencils and the newest bags and long time favorites and I need to start packing up all of these orders and finishing up all of these bags. Y’all are amazing and you have literally made my weekend. My year, actually. Last week’s new product launch was the culmination of big risky changes and lots of inspiration. When a business shuts down for a few months at a time, it is really hard to get that going again, and you have all helped me do it. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
