HELLO WE ARE HIRING! We are looking for a part time production assistant to become one of our colleagues in this beautiful space.
We love experts in crafts(wo)(man)ship, but we will also train someone with the right sensibilities. i.e., an understanding of machinery, materials, fine motor skills, attention to detail, self sufficiency, reliability.
Must be able to lift 60lb bolts of fabric, stand for hours at a time and be able to anticipate the needs of those you will be assisting. You will be working directly in a customer facing storefront, your outward presentation is important, must be professional and in-line with our brand representation.
You will be assisting the lead production stitchers with material prep, marking, trimming, folding, minimal amounts of stitching, and any number of things that are needed at any given moment. A successful candidate will learn quickly, be able to read the needs of daily production to anticipate where you can add efficiency to the production line, have a very strong attention to detail - and the ability to wield it quickly. We work in a fast paced but comfortable environment. Strong energy is necessary.
Hours will be 10-3, 4 days a week (there is some flexibility here for the right person).
This position is in downtown Pittsburgh. You will need to reliably transport yourself to and from downtown Pittsburgh. We do not offer employee parking. Employees utilize the city parking garages, the city bus system or commute by bike (we do have room for bikes!).
