Went to see Patti Smith tonight at the Carnegie Museum of Art and it was awesome. She read from her new book with such candid humor I couldn't stop laughing. she covered Lou Reed and sang John Lennon protest songs and Patti Smith songs and made me miss and think of my late mother in law Marlene and hope that I can be as powerfully present and candid and refined in my talents as Patti Smith is.
